Our vision campaign for the next months and years to come
We can't meet our God sized vision without your support. We know over the course of the next three years we will need to raise approximately $1.2 million to accomplish all of the initiatives of For The Community. As of right now we have almost $800,000 pledged but still looking for your support in this mission. Would you join us today by following the link to give below.
Q. What is the vision of Grace Fellowship Church?
Grace Fellowship has a vision of loving the communities we live in with the gospel of Jesus Christ. The “For The Community” campaign is focused on providing a community indoor park as well as developing and expanding ministries that serve families in our community.
Q. What was the process our leaders went through to develop this vision?
The Elders and Staff of Grace Fellowship have been in a strategic planning process for over a year listening to God and discerning the next steps in our future.
Q. How did you come up with 1.2 million dollars for the campaign?
According to our current congregational size and budget with full participation and equal sacrifice and generosity it is projected that 1.2 million could be raised to complete the objectives of this campaign.
Q. What if we don’t reach the full pledge amount, what gets cut?
With our commitment to a debt free vision campaign, total pledges will influence the scope of the community park and the extent of the ministries planned. The generosity and sacrifice of Grace Fellowship will determine the impact we will have on our community.
Q. Will Grace take on debt for this project?
The leadership is committed to accomplishing this vision debt free. However, short term debt may be incurred while campaign pledges are being fulfilled. The Elders have committed to borrowing no more than 80% of the total of campaign pledges in order to proceed on the campaign initiatives. This commitment helps to avoid long term debt.
Q. What about our existing debt?
At the time of this writing our current indebtedness is less than $300.000. Our general fund budget will retire this debt within the next three years.
Q. Based on pledge commitments, how will projects be prioritized and when will we break ground?
Our commitment is to complete all campaign initiatives within the next three years. We hope to break ground on the community indoor park as soon as we receive all the required permits and contracts with possible completion by Fall, 2019. We anticipate launching several ministry initiatives by the same date.
Q. Why did you choose Wheatfield Elementary for the compassion portion of the project?
First, “For The Community” is about blessing our community. Therefore, we are committing a portion of the campaign funds to go directly to a designated recipient in our community. Second, Because of our Kids Hope partnership with Wheatfield Elementary School (see below), we considered it as a natural selection.
Community Indoor Park Questions:
Q. Why is Grace looking to develop a community indoor park?
One of the greatest needs we hear from families in this area is the lack of opportunities during the cold and inclement seasons. This park will be an all seasons space providing families a place to connect and recreate in a safe and secure environment. We also believe that this space will be advantageous to Grace connecting with families in the community and enhancing the ministries we can offer. This will be a great gift to children, parents and grandparents in our community.
Q. What will be included in this building?
The major portion of the indoor park will include a large playscape system for ages 4-12. There will also be a space for toddlers and special needs, rental rooms for special events and a sitting area for parents. A full HVAC system will be installed for year round use, a security camera system for protection and it will be staffed during all hours of operation.
Q. What other features do we need to know about the park?
A parent or guardian is required to be present for children to enjoy the park. There will be a designated area for food consumption but no food service will be offered. No one above the age of 12 will be permitted in the playscape. No entrance fee will be charged. And, you do not have to be a member of Grace to use the facility. This park truly is a gift to our community.
Q. Anything else?
Yes. This is just the first step in a multi-year plan to provide more and more family opportunities in our community.
New Ministries Questions:
Q. What is Kids Hope?
Kids Hope USA is a national organization that builds life-changing relationships one at a time with local schools. Another church in DeMotte has adopted DeMotte Elementary School. Grace has adopted Wheatfield Elementary and will begin establishing a one-on-one mentoring program between adults and children within the school.
Q. What is Night to Shine?
Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. February 8, 2019, Night to Shine will celebrate its fifth anniversary! On one night, 655 churches from around the world came together to host Night to Shine for approximately 100,000 honored guests through the support of 200,000 volunteers!
Q. Will there be a charge for after-school tutoring?
Our hope would be to have after-school tutoring available at little to no cost. The final ministry details have not been worked out at this time.
Building Renovation Questions:
Q. What are the interior renovations being planned?
Some of the interior renovations being planned include, but are not limited to: carpet replacement in the older sections of our building, a refresh of our lobby and auditorium, stage improvements, and updates on our security system.
Q. So what exactly are you asking me to do?
Pray and Participate. “For The Community” is a grand vision requiring full support and engagement. Please pray that God continues to guide this vision. Also, ask God how He would have you support this vision in time, talent and treasure. This campaign is calling not only for dollars to fund these initiatives but also gifted and passionate volunteers to serve in these ministries. We truly want to be a church in the community for the community. Will you partner with us to fulfill this vision?
Q. When do I begin?
Sunday, March 10, is Commitment Sunday when we will be asking everyone to make a financial pledge to the campaign. The following Sunday, March 17, will be Celebration Sunday. On this day we are encouraging everyone to bring the best gift they can to help launch the Campaign. On Monday, March 18, we get to work ‘For the Community!’
